Luke’s June & July 2025 Update!

Fire In Your Soul: A Regenerative Celebration of Soil, Soul & Self

As the sun dipped below the horizon on the evening of July 4th, a different kind of spark lit up the landscape — not fireworks, but the kindling of community, purpose, and deep connection to the Earth. Fire in Your Soul, a regenerative festival held from July 4th to 6th, was more than an event — it was a heartfelt gathering of like-minded souls who came together to celebrate food, farming, the planet, and our own inner ecosystems.

Held during the height of summer’s abundance, Fire in Your Soul brought together farmers, food growers, wellness seekers, creatives, and Earth lovers to rediscover something ancient: the living, breathing connection between soil health and personal health.

Soil Biome to Gut Biome: The Living Thread

At the heart of the festival was the sacred link between the health of our soil and the health of our bodies. The idea? That the same biodiversity that makes soil fertile is mirrored in our own gut microbiome. Healthy land creates healthy plants. Healthy plants feed our microbes. And our microbes, in turn, feed us — mentally, emotionally, and physically.

We explored:

  • The answer … lies in the soil by John Meadley and Kyle Richardville

  • How compost is medicine for the Earth by the wonderful Lilia Sinclair

  • The impact of fermented foods and wild herbs on gut flora

  • And simple, daily rituals to reconnect to your body and your food

Each meal shared was a celebration — not just of taste, but of life itself.  We brought our very own beef and pork, pasture fed full of story and nutrients to shout about whilst  simon dyer and his merry men used fire as the main source of inspiration for the demos.

Farming Reflections from June: Grit, Growth & Gratitude

June was a sprint. A push toward peak summer. Days stretched long, fields bursting with life — and to be honest, a few breakdowns along the way (both mechanical and emotional). But that’s farming: it teaches you to stay grounded in the chaos.

June reminded us that soil doesn’t just grow food. It grows us. It humbles, demands, teaches. And then, just when you need it, it feeds you — with berries, greens, deep nourishment, and the joy of watching things come alive.

A Little Glasto FOMO (But Also Not Really)

Yes, I missed Glastonbury this year — and it stung, a little. The legends, the lights, the wild magic. But as I stood barefoot in the grass at Fire in Your Soul, surrounded by people genuinely invested in healing the land and themselves, I realised I was right where I needed to be.

This wasn’t about escapism. It was about re-rooting.
